Interconnection PM

We are supporting a major utility client in Atlanta seeking an experienced Transmission Interconnection Engineer / Project Manager to support Generator Interconnection and Transmission Service Requests across a rapidly growing transmission network.

This position will play a critical role in supporting transmission interconnection planning activities, coordinating with internal engineering groups, project management teams, transmission planners, operations personnel, and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution of interconnection requests in accordance with FERC, state, and reliability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Support Generator Interconnection and Transmission Service Requests from initiation through completion

* Coordinate with Transmission Planning, System Operations, Transmission Design, PMO, and external stakeholders

* Assist with project scope development, schedules, budgets, and facility upgrade requirements

* Support evaluation of transmission system impacts associated with generation and transmission interconnections

* Coordinate communications between utilities, developers, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders

* Develop project documentation, cost estimates, and supporting engineering information

* Support facility upgrade recommendations and project implementation activities

* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

* 10+ years of utility engineering experience preferred

* Minimum 5 years of transmission interconnection experience

* Experience supporting Generator Interconnection Requests and/or Transmission Service Requests

* Strong understanding of transmission lines, substations, transmission operations, and planning processes

* Experience working for a vertically integrated utility preferred

* Prior experience with utilities such as Georgia Power, Southern Company, Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, Duke Energy, Dominion Energy, Entergy, TVA, or similar utilities highly desired

* Background as a Transmission Planning Engineer, Transmission Engineer, Transmission Line Engineer, Test Engineer, Protection & Controls Engineer, or Interconnection Engineer preferred
