Commissioning Manager - Data Centers / Owner's Representative

Lead commissioning delivery for major data center end users and developers.
Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is expanding its network of experienced Commissioning Managers to support large-scale data center construction and campus developments across the United States.
Through our Teams on Demand service, we embed experienced consultants and coordinated delivery teams directly into client programs, strengthening owner-side leadership from commissioning planning through testing, acceptance and operational handover.
Current opportunities
Our key areas include Texas, Georgia, Nevada, Utah and Washington, with opportunities to work within end-user and developer teams overseeing mechanical, electrical and integrated commissioning delivery.
What you'll do
- Represent the owner throughout commissioning planning, execution and turnover.
- Oversee commissioning agents, general contractors, trade partners and equipment vendors.
- Manage commissioning schedules, readiness reviews and interfaces with construction.
- Review commissioning plans, test scripts, procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate functional performance testing and integrated systems testing (IST).
- Drive issue resolution, corrective actions, retesting and closeout.
- Provide clear reporting on progress, technical risks and operational readiness.
- Support documentation, systems acceptance and handover to operations.
What you'll need
- Proven data center commissioning experience is essential, including delivery through functional testing, IST and turnover.
- Strong owner-side experience, working directly for or representing a data center end user, hyperscaler or developer.
- Experience as a Commissioning Manager, Commissioning Lead or equivalent, with responsibility for coordinating multiple contractors and disciplines.
- A strong mechanical or electrical background, with sufficient understanding of wider MEP systems to manage interfaces and dependencies.
- Practical knowledge of criticaldatacenter infrastructure, such as:
- Electrical: MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS, switchgear and associated controls.
- Mechanical: Chilled-water systems, cooling plant, pumps, air-handling equipment and associated controls.
- Controls: BMS/EPMS integration, alarms, sequences of operation and system response.
- Experience reviewing test procedures, witnessing testing and assessing results against design requirements and acceptance criteria.
- The ability to identify commissioning blockers, challenge incomplete installations and drive technical issues to resolution.
- Confidence coordinating construction, commissioning and operations teams while protecting the owner's delivery priorities.
Additional experience valued
- Hyperscale or multi-building campus delivery.
- Liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling or high-density compute environments.
- Phased handovers and commissioning alongside live operations.
- Leadership of commissioning teams across multiple buildings or projects.
