Commissioning Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commissioning Manager to join our team. In this role, you will act as the Client's primary representative throughout all phases of commissioning for complex mission-critical infrastructure projects, with a focus on delivering excellence, safety, quality, and timely project milestones. Responsibilities
Owner's Representation
- Represent the client's interests throughout all commissioning phases.
- Serve as primary commissioning contact for assigned projects.
- Ensure commissioning aligns with program objectives, quality standards, and project milestones.
- Provide technical leadership through construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
Commissioning Management
- Lead and coordinate commissioning activities from planning to project completion.
- Manage performance and deliverables of third-party Commissioning Agents (CxA).
- Review and contribute to commissioning strategies, procedures, test scripts, and documentation.
- Monitor commissioning readiness and ensure systems are prepared for testing.
- Support Functional Performance Testing (FPT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
Construction & Project Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Design Consultants, Contractors, and Operations teams.
- Integrate commissioning activities into the overall construction program.
- Identify risks impacting commissioning milestones and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve commissioning issues while maintaining schedules and deliverables.
Technical Leadership
- Provide oversight across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Review installation quality and facilitate quality assurance processes.
- Monitor commissioning progress and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Ensure thorough documentation and successful project turnover.
Qualifications
Technical Environment Experience
- Proficient working with mission-critical infrastructure systems, including but not limited to:
Electrical Systems
- Medium Voltage (MV) & Low Voltage (LV) Distribution
- Switchgear, Transformers, UPS Systems
- Standby Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Static Transfer Switches (STS)
- Protective Relay Systems, EPMS, Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Load Bank Testing
Mechanical Systems
- Chillers, CRAH/CRAC Units, Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs)
- Pumps, Hydronic Pipework, Heat Rejection Systems, Cooling Towers
- HVAC Plant, Water Treatment Systems
Commissioning Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in commissioning planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Experience with Mechanical Completion, Functional Performance Testing, and Integrated Systems Testing.
- Skilled in system turnover and handover processes.
- Proficient in commissioning documentation and deficiency management.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes supporting commissioning readiness.
- Experienced in construction-to-operations transitions and technical issue resolution.
Required Experience
- Experience as Owner's Representative or in client-side commissioning roles.
- Exposure to hyperscale, enterprise, or mission-critical data center environments preferred.
- Proven ability managing third-party Commissioning Agents.
- Effective coordination of multidisciplinary project teams.
- Track record delivering complex MEP systems through construction, commissioning, and turnover.
- Experience managing multiple live projects and competing priorities.
