Commissioning Manager - Las Vegas

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager (CxM) to represent the client's interests and lead the commissioning process for our mission-critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing commissioning within hyperscale, enterprise, or data center environments and will serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning activities. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and strong leadership to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of commissioning milestones. Responsibilities

Owner's Representation

  • Serve as the client's representative throughout all phases of commissioning.
  • Act as the primary commissioning contact for assigned projects.
  • Ensure commissioning activities align with programme objectives, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Provide technical leadership during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

Commissioning Management

  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end commissioning activities from planning through project completion.
  • Manage performance and deliverables of third-party Commissioning Agents (CxA).
  • Review and approve commissioning strategies, procedures, test scripts, and documentation.
  • Monitor commissioning readiness and ensure systems are prepared for Functional Performance Testing (FPT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Support planning and execution of FPT and IST activities.

Construction & Project Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Design Consultants, Contractors, and Operations teams.
  • Integrate commissioning activities into the overall construction programme.
  • Identify and mitigate risks affecting commissioning milestones.
  • Drive timely resolution of commissioning issues while maintaining focus on programme goals.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide oversight of mechanical, electrical, and control systems installations.
  • Review installation quality and support quality assurance processes before commissioning.
  • Monitor progress and communicate risks, constraints, and opportunities to project leadership.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and successful project turnover.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience with medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, standby generators, ATS, STS, protective relay systems, EPMS, BMS, and load bank testing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, CDUs, pumps, hydronic pipework, heat rejection systems, cooling towers, HVAC plants, and water treatment systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in commissioning planning, scheduling, mechanical completion, FPT, IST, system turnover, documentation, deficiency management, and quality processes.
  • Experience in construction-to-operations transitions and technical issue resolution is essential.

Experience

  • Prior roles as Owner's Representative or client-side commissioning lead.
  • Experience working in hyperscale, enterprise, or mission-critical data center or infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled at managing third-party Commissioning Agents and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Background in delivering complex MEP systems across construction, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within live programme environments and maintain programme milestones amid competing priorities.
