Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Offshore Transmission (Managed Service)
Client: EirGrid Offshore Framework
Engagement Type: Managed Service (Scope-Based Delivery - Not Secondment)
Location: Ireland (Hybrid - approx. 2 days per week on-site as required)
Duration: Ongoing framework assignment
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead delivery within an offshore transmission framework. This role operates under a managed service model, with responsibility for defined project scope and deliverables rather than acting as an embedded resource.
The successful candidate will take ownership of planning, coordination, and execution across key offshore workstreams, ensuring delivery aligns with programme objectives, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned offshore transmission project scope
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
- Act as the primary interface between stakeholders, engineering teams, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
- Drive programme governance, reporting, and performance tracking
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple workstreams
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and construction
- Manage contractor and supplier performance within the defined scope
- Deliver clear, structured reporting to senior stakeholders
Scope & Delivery Model
- Operate under a managed service framework, with clearly defined deliverables and outcomes
- Responsible for output-based delivery, not time-based resource augmentation
- Maintain accountability for quality, timelines, and budget adherence within scope
- Collaborate closely with client stakeholders while retaining delivery ownership
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years' experience in project management within energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong experience in offshore transmission, grid infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects
- Proven track record delivering complex projects under structured governance frameworks
- Experience working with transmission system operators or similar organisations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
- Familiarity with Irish or UK regulatory environments (desirable)
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred
Working Arrangement
- Approx. 2 days per week commitment
- Hybrid working model with occasional site/client visits
- Flexibility required based on project milestones and delivery phases
