CAPEX Project Manager
Location: Linköping, Sweden
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CAPEX Project Manager to lead machinery and facility investment projects from technical procurement through installation, commissioning, trial running, and handover to production. This role requires a proactive leader with solid experience in managing CAPEX investments in industrial environments, with a strong technical understanding and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Lead CAPEX machinery and facility investment projects from inception to handover.
- Manage procurement processes including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, trial runs, and production handover activities ensuring minimal disruption.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and maintenance.
- Oversee technical interfaces between machines, utilities, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration.
- Challenge technical proposals constructively to ensure scope control, quality, and delivery standards are met.
- Produce comprehensive project documentation such as work instructions, maintenance manuals, and handover materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards including CE marking and the Machine Directive.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing CAPEX, investment, or industrial equipment projects.
- Demonstrated ability leading equipment procurement, suppliers, budgets, and project schedules.
- Strong background in machinery installation, commissioning, trial-running, and production handover.
- Technical knowledge of pipes, valves, pressure systems, fluids, and gases.
- Experience coordinating facility systems including gas, compressed air, and cooling water.
- Working knowledge of CE marking and compliance with the EU Machine Directive.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience producing detailed project and maintenance documentation.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry or comparable process industries such as oil & gas, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or MedTech is highly desirable.
- Proactive problem solver with strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Swedish language skills are a plus.
