Software Test Engineer

The Project

The programme has been running for approximately one year and is currently progressing through the implementation phase, having successfully completed PDR and approaching SOI-2 certification milestones. The software consists of a combination of SCADE Display generated code and manually developed Embedded C software operating within a DO-178C environment.

Due to increased verification and test activity, the team is looking to introduce an additional Software Test Engineer to support the delivery schedule.

The Role

You will focus on the verification and validation of safety-critical embedded software, supporting both module-level and system-level testing activities.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Writing software test plans and test procedures
• Developing and executing test scripts
• Module and low-level testing of Embedded C code
• Supporting system-level verification activities
• Producing DO-178C compliant documentation and test evidence
• Reviewing test results and generating reports
• Supporting certification and quality assurance activities
• Working closely with software developers and test leads

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working on DO-178B or DO-178C programmes
• Embedded C software testing experience
• Verification and Validation (V&V) experience
• Module, unit or integration testing experience
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or other safety-critical industry background
