Job Title: Environmental Consultant
Project: 130MW Utility-Scale Solar Farm
Location: County Meath, Ireland
Contract Type: Contract (Hybrid - 2-3 days on site)


Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to support the delivery of a 130MW utility-scale solar farm in County Meath, working on behalf of the PSCS. This role will focus on ensuring environmental compliance throughout the construction phase, supporting site teams and stakeholders to meet all regulatory and project-specific requirements.

This is a hybrid position, requiring 2-3 days per week on site, with the remainder flexible.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), ensuring compliance across all site activities.
  • Conduct noise monitoring in line with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee waste management practices, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Monitor and manage risks related to land contamination.
  • Implement and supervise silt control and surface water pollution prevention measures.
  • Coordinate with third-party environmental consultants and specialists.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including ESB, ECoW, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and manage invasive species, ensuring compliance with environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate environmental records and reporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance and monitoring during construction phases.
  • Familiarity with CEMP implementation and environmental management systems.
  • Experience liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice in Ireland or the UK.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a site-based team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience on solar, renewables, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with ESB or similar utilities.
  • Background in ecology, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of ECoW processes and environmental permitting.
