Construction Manager | AI Data Centre | Helsinki
CMC is seeking a senior Construction Manager to join the owner-side PMC team delivering an AI data-centre development near Helsinki.
The Construction Manager will represent the client across site delivery, contractor performance and multidisciplinary coordination. The role requires someone capable of identifying risks early, challenging the GC and driving the project safely through construction into commissioning readiness.
Responsibilities
- Provide owner-side construction leadership across a complex, multidisciplinary data-centre programme.
- Monitor GC and subcontractor performance against programme, quality, safety and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate CSA, MEP, utilities, fit-out and specialist technology workstreams.
- Review contractor method statements, logistics plans, sequencing and temporary works arrangements.
- Identify constructability issues, design gaps, interface risks and sequencing conflicts.
- Lead site coordination meetings and drive resolution of actions, RFIs and constraints.
- Monitor progress against the approved baseline and support recovery planning where required.
- Coordinate delivery and installation of long-lead electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure construction packages achieve the required conditions for energisation and commissioning.
- Work closely with HSE, QA/QC, planning, controls and commissioning leadership.
- Provide accurate progress, risk and contractor-performance reporting to the Project Director.
- Support phased completion, handover, defect resolution and operational readiness.
Required experience
- Significant construction-management experience on hyperscale or mission-critical data centres.
- Strong multidisciplinary knowledge across CSA and MEP delivery.
- Experience managing a GC and specialist subcontractors in an owner-side, developer or PMC capacity.
- Good technical understanding of HV/MV/LV systems, substations, generators, UPS, switchgear and critical cooling.
- Demonstrable experience dealing with programme recovery, contractor underperformance and complex interfaces.
- Previous Nordic or Finnish project experience would be beneficial.
- Strong leadership and written and verbal English.
- EU working rights or the ability to work compliantly in Finland.
