Transmission Program Director (Virginia)

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multi-year capital transmission programs ensuring excellence across project portfolios.
• Manage cross-functional teams, EPC contractors, and key stakeholders to drive performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategic transmission expansion initiatives aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless project integration.
• Monitor program metrics, budgets, schedules, and risks while ensuring compliance with corporate and industry standards.
• Foster an inclusive team culture that embraces diversity and innovation.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff, empowering diverse leadership pipelines.
• Champion best practices in program management and continuous improvement methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in program or portfolio management within transmission, power delivery, or electric utility sectors.
• Proven leadership in managing large capital projects or portfolios related to transmission line construction, grid modernization, or transmission expansion.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory environments and industry standards impacting transmission projects.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage diverse teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• PMP, PgMP, or relevant program management certification preferred.
