Consulting Lead

FPGA Design and Verification Engineer

Location: Stockholm area, Sweden. Remote within Europe considered for the right profile, with occasional travel to site for onboarding and workshops.

Duration: To the end of 2026 in the first instance, extended in three month increments. The programme is expected to run into 2027 with further work to follow.

Hours: 40 per week.

Engagement: Contract, via your own company or through our employment partner.

The assignment

We are supporting a semiconductor development programme within a large telecoms organisation. The team is working towards a delivery milestone on a chip that does not yet exist in silicon, and the FPGA platform is how the design is validated and understood ahead of tape out. This is a critical piece of the programme rather than a peripheral one.

You would be joining a small, established team split across two Swedish sites, working alongside other engineering groups within the wider organisation.

What you would be doing

  • RTL design and verification on the FPGA platform used to validate the design before tape out
  • Taking high level architecture through to implementation
  • Design work across high speed architectures with multiple clock domains
  • Working with the existing team, tools and methodology already in place

Essential

  • Digital design background with clock domain crossing experience
  • Robust RTL architecture across high speed, multiple clock domain designs
  • Able to take a high level architecture through to implementation
  • Strong VHDL or SystemVerilog
  • Strong experience with design implementation tools such as Vivado or Quartus
  • Strong analytical skills, with a clear understanding of how coding decisions affect the result

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of protocols such as Ethernet or PCIe
  • Experience within a large telecoms or semiconductor organisation

What suits this assignment

Someone experienced enough to step into an established environment and work within it, rather than reshape it. Product specific knowledge is not expected on day one and internal support is in place, so being comfortable asking questions early matters more than arriving with all the answers.

Notice period: One month maximum.
