Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ** Senior Systems Engineer** specializing in complex test equipment, test systems, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), or special test equipment. This role focuses on detailed requirements decomposition, traceability, verification, as well as system architecture, interface definition, and integration support. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional environments and excels at accurately interpreting customer specifications to translate them into actionable test system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles to the development of complex test equipment, test systems, and ATE.
• Perform detailed requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification to ensure robust and reliable test solutions.
• Utilize DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools for documentation and communication (DOORS experience strongly preferred).
• Define system architecture and interfaces that enable seamless integration.
• Support integration and verification phases during test equipment development.
• Interpret customer specifications and transform them into clear, detailed test system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to maintain strong documentation and communication across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems engineering related to test equipment, test systems, ATE, or special test equipment.
• Expertise in requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification processes.
• Strong background in system architecture design and interface definition.
• Practical experience with integration and verification of test equipment.
• Ability to interpret complex customer requirements and translate them into system-level test solutions.
• Preferred experience in aerospace, defense, space, missile, avionics, flight control, or other similar hardware domains.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to contractual obligations.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and design system solutions for test solutions.
• Managing and updating requirement documentation using DOORS or similar tools.
• Designing system architecture diagrams and interface specifications.
• Participating in integration and verification activities, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Attending project meetings to align test equipment development with customer expectations.
• Reporting progress and potential risks to project leads and management.
