Mechanical Design Engineer - Inverter Design

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our diverse and inclusive team focused on inverter design. The ideal candidate will utilise their expertise in SolidWorks 3D modeling, design and drafting, and requirement management to contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize mechanical designs for inverter components using SolidWorks 3D modeling and drafting tools.
  • Manage and maintain design data using PDM (Product Data Management) systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and suppliers to ensure design requirements and project milestones are met.
  • Utilize Requirement Management tools such as Visure or Polarion to track and document design and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and Jira systems to manage project workflows, change requests, and issue tracking.
  • Support project planning and contribute to risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Promote best practices in design for manufacturability, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation activities.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture that respects diverse perspectives and encourages open communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design with proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Experience with Requirement Management tools such as Visure or Polarion.
  • Familiarity with PDM and PLM systems, as well as Jira for project and issue management.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and inverter system components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

  • Project management experience is a plus.
