Integra Technologies to build new semiconductor factory

This month’s top story comes from Integra Technologies, the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test company, who plan to build a $1.8 billion  semiconductor factory in Kansas. The project represents the 2nd largest private investment in Kansas history and will create around 2,000 jobs.

Wolfspeed's new Silicon Carbide Chip Fabrication Plant

Our second story comes from Wolfspeed, the North Carolina based company who manufacture silicon carbide devices.

The company opened the world's first and largest 200 mm silicon carbide chip fabrication plant in April 2022 and have since committed to creating over 600 new jobs within the first eight years of its operation.

New funding by U.S. government

The final story today comes from the US government who want at least 2 advanced computer chip companies built and plan to encourage companies as part of a $52billion imitative.

The funding includes a 25% investment tax credit for chip plants worth $24 billion and $39 billion in government subsidies to build or expand U.S. facilities, the effort has been sparked by China’s dominance in the industry.
