Our stop story this month is that the state of New York has selected the project Attentive Energy One for a 25 year contract to supply 1.4GW of renewable electricity to the state. The project will be carried out by partners Total Energies, Corio Generation and Rise Light & Power.

The Attentive Energy One project will see the construction of a new General Electric facility to manufacture offshore wind turbine blades and nacelles, and unlock $300 million in investment in various community projects across New York State. In addition, it will transform Rise's Ravenswood gas-fired power plant into a clean energy hub in the heart of New York City.

Our second story is that Intersect Power have announced commercial operation of their 679MW solar and 1GWh storage project Oberon in Riverside County, California.

The Oberon project is the first to achieve operation through the streamlined approach under the U.S. Department of the Interior and Bureau of Land Management (BLM)'s Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, which ensures responsible energy development in pursuit of a carbon free power sector. The project will provide power to 207,000 homes per year.

Our next story is IPP Bright Night and its partner Cordelio Power have broken ground on the 300MW Box Canyon solar project in Pinal County, Arizona.

A PPA was signed in July last year with Southwest Public Power Agency, a representative body for multiple utilities in the region and will be the largest renewable energy procurement in its history.

The project is expected to reach commercial operation in the first half of 2025 and is the first project in a total 2GW portfolio owned by Bright Night and Cordelio Power in Arizona.

Finally Longroad Energy has closed financing and started construction on Sun Streams 4, a 377 MW solar and 1.2GWh storage project.

Sun Streams 4 is Longroad’s largest solar and storage project to date and is the company’s third project in its Sun Streams complex, based in Maricopa County, Arizona. Commercial operation of Sun Streams 4 is currently expected by mid-2025.

During the construction period, Sun Streams 4 is expected to employ over 200 people. McCarthy Building Companies was selected as the EPC contractor.
