Designer Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Designer Technician to join our diverse and inclusive team. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5+ years of experience in utility design, telecom, or infrastructure projects, coupled with strong proficiency in CAD software and a foundational understanding of GIS systems. Responsibilities

• Develop and draft detailed design plans for utility infrastructure projects, including electric distribution, gas, and fiber systems.
• Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) to create, modify, and optimize technical drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field crews to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
• Apply basic GIS tools and mapping software to support design and planning efforts.
• Maintain organized records of design changes, project documentation, and technical specifications.
• Support compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies promoting diversity and inclusion.
• Continuously improve design processes by sharing innovative ideas and feedback in team meetings.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of experience in utility design, telecom, or infrastructure-related projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or equivalent tools.
• Basic knowledge of GIS systems and mapping applications.
• Solid understanding of utility systems including electric distribution, gas, or fiber optics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
