CMC are currently looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to support an exciting new deployment based in Stockholm, Sweden.

The client is a pioneering organisation within the automotive engineering sector.

This is an initial Long term contract, with strong potential for extension. The role requires full-time, on-site presence in Stockholm. We're looking for someone who is available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Catia V5 3D modelling and technical drawing production
• Metal and plastic component design with a focus on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
• Mechanical engineering principles applied to complex design challenges
• Cross-functional experience working alongside manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management teams
• Strong communication skills to implement and drive design solutions
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
• Forward-thinking approach to engineering process and product design improvements
• Ensures adherence to industry standards and safety regulations throughout the design process
• Continuous improvement practices drawn from experience at Scania and other roles
• Broad exposure across the full product development lifecycle

Day-to-Day Activities

• Designing and refining parts using Catia V5 to meet project specifications.
• Coordinating with manufacturing and suppliers to address design feasibility.
• Reviewing and updating technical documentation and drawings.
• Attending team meetings and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
• Troubleshooting mechanical issues and proposing effective solutions.
• Supporting mentorship activities and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance product development.
