Quality Inspector

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team at CMC to work on Utility Scale Renewable Energy projects. This is a 12-month assignment working on an energy storage and solar project based in Washington State. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all construction and installation activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is based onsite and requires a commitment to upholding CMC's values of diversity, equality, and inclusion by fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment for all team members and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quality assurance inspections including visual inspections, nondestructive examinations, and compliance tests across various disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction.
  • Monitor and ensure quality control processes are consistently and satisfactorily executed by contractors, maintaining the integrity and safety of all installations.
  • Record and report inspection results, findings, and any non-conformances promptly and accurately to the Site Quality Manager.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve quality issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote an inclusive work culture by respecting diverse perspectives and encouraging equitable treatment of all individuals on site.

Qualifications

  • Proven quality inspection experience in the renewable energy industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract exhibits.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and components, installation practices, and quality standards.
  • Skilled in industry standards, codes, and regulations related to PV, BESS, wind, and substation construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential quality issues and risks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook etc.
  • Understand tools and equipment calibration procedures.
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices.
