Senior Project Manager - Transmission & Substation (T&D)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to support a portfolio of transmission and substation projects. This individual will play a critical role in coordinating project execution, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful delivery across scope, schedule, and budget.
This role requires a strong communicator and team-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative utility environment and can effectively manage multiple stakeholders across engineering, planning, and construction functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple transmission and substation projects from initiation through execution and closeout
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, planning, construction, and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and project continuity
- Lead project meetings, status updates, and reporting efforts
- Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and constraints in a proactive manner
- Support contract management, change orders, and project documentation processes
- Provide oversight of project execution while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on coordination and delivery rather than directive management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong preference for 10+ years
- Demonstrated experience managing transmission and substation projects within the utility sector
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and large project portfolios
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience working within utility or regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects with budgets of $5M+
- Familiarity with Oracle-based project management tools (e.g., Oracle Unifier, Oracle Fusion)
- Experience working with major utility companies or EPC firms
Work Environment & Schedule
- On-site role based in Reno, Nevada
- Standard working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- May require additional hours based on project demands
