Project Engineer

CMC are supporting one of our clients in the defence and engineering sector who are looking to bring in a Project Engineer to support the delivery of an ongoing engineering programme.

You'll join a collaborative engineering team and play a key role in driving project activities forward, ensuring technical documentation, reporting, and coordination across teams are delivered effectively. This role sits between engineering and project delivery, supporting engineers while maintaining project structure and communication with internal teams and stakeholders.

The project has a defined scope and established milestones, and the successful engineer will help ensure documentation, reporting, and testing activities are delivered in line with client requirements.

This is not a full project management role, but it would suit someone with a technical engineering background who has gained experience supporting or coordinating engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating project documentation in line with client requirements
• Supporting project delivery and ensuring milestones and technical outputs are tracked
• Communicating with internal teams including engineering, procurement, and commercial departments
• Supporting supplier engagement and providing technical input where required
• Participating in project meetings and presenting updates when necessary
• Supporting testing programmes, field trials, and technical reviews
• Reviewing engineering documentation and drawings where required

Essential Experience

• Experience working within an engineering or technical environment
• Previous experience supporting engineering projects or project coordination activities
• Strong experience managing technical documentation and reporting
• Experience with Microsoft Project
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Familiarity with ISO9000 or similar quality standards
